BREW stands for Barista, Roasting & Employment Workshops.
Our mission is to give people back their dignity through world-class barista training and experience. We deliver this through a network of the highest-calibre cafes, baristas and roasters.
BREW’s training programme blends expert barista tuition with essential employability skills, giving people the confidence and experience to step into work. We believe coffee can transform lives through. Our work equips people from disadvantaged backgrounds with practical skills, real work experience and supportive mentoring. We opening doors to employment and entrepreneurship, we help participants build confidence, independence–brighter futures—one cup, one opportunity and one transformed life at a time.
Kahaila is a neologism in the Hebrew language which means ‘Life in Community’. It is a community that was founded in 2011 by Paul Unsworth, a baptist minister, who was looking for a new way of doing church. He came up with idea of setting up a specialty coffee shop on Brick Lane in east London, and planting a church that met there every Wednesday evening.
